Coupling quintessence kinetics to electromagnetism

چکیده
Abstract We propose a general model where quintessence couples to electromagnetism via its kinetic term. This novelty generalizes the linear dependence of gauge function on ϕ , commonly adopted in literature. The interaction naturally induces time variation fine-structure constant that can be formulated within disformally coupled framework, akin Gordon metric. Coupling of quintessence to pseudoscalar of electromagnetism and CMB polarization
We present the full set of power spectra of cosmic microwave background (CMB) temperature and polarization anisotropies due to the coupling between quintessence and pseudoscalar of electromagnetism. This coupling induces the rotation of the polarization plane of CMB photons, thus resulting in non-vanishing B mode and parity-violating TB and EB modes. Using the 2003 flight of BOOMERANG (B03) dat...
متن کاملCoupling Quintessence to Inflation in Supergravity
The evolution of the quintessence field during a phase of chaotic inflation is studied. The inflaton φ and the quintesssence field Q are described in a supergravity framework where the coupling between the inflaton and quintessence is induced by non-renormalisable operators suppressed by the Planck mass. We show that the resulting quintessence potential during inflation possesses a time–depende...
متن کاملThe Coupling of Gravity to Spin and Electromagnetism
The coupled Einstein-Dirac-Maxwell equations are considered for a static, spherically symmetric system of two fermions in a singlet spinor state. Stable soliton-like solutions are shown to exist, and we discuss the regularizing effect of gravity from a Feynman diagram point of view. There are some interesting effects that result when one couples gravity, as expressed through Einstein’s equation...
متن کاملTeleparallel quintessence with a nonminimal coupling to a boundary term
We propose a new model in the teleparallel framework where we consider a scalar field nonminimally coupled to both the torsion T and a boundary term given by the divergence of the torsion vector B 1⁄4 2e ∂μðeTμÞ. This is inspired by the relation R 1⁄4 −T þ B between the Ricci scalar of general relativity and the torsion of teleparallel gravity. This theory in suitable limits incorporates both t...
متن کاملOn curvature coupling and quintessence fine-tuning
– We discuss the phenomenological model in which the potential energy of the quintessence field depends linearly on the energy density of the spatial curvature. We find that the pressure of the scalar field takes a different form when the potential of the scalar field also depends on the scale factor and the energy momentum tensor of the scalar field can be expressed as the form of a perfect fl...
